What’s the Season 8 Title and When Will it End?
Chapter 2 Season 8 of Fortnite is titled Cubed. It kicked off a little over a month ago following the closing events of Invasion. Cubed has arrived just in time to bring in some Halloween shenanigans and will be coming to a close on December 5th this year.
Does Season 8 Feature Any Map Changes?
As the name of the season implies, mysterious cubes have crashed all over the Island, causing a lot of impact on the areas around them. The cubes are causing corruption which is causing The Sideways to enter our reality. These beings from another dimension were first introduced in Season 6 but are now becoming major players in Season 8. Their portals appear near various points of interest at random. Abductor UFOs have crashed all across the Island, causing multiple slipstreams and bouncers to appear.
Are There Any New Features in Season 8?
One cool new feature introduced during Cubed is the new crafting material called Cube Monster Parts. These can be acquired by defeating Cube Monsters appearing randomly around the map. You can then use them to craft the following Sideways weapons:
- Sideways Rifle – Works on a cooldown system and has First Shot Accuracy
- Sideways Minigun – Also uses a cooldown system and can overheat after roughly firing 54 shots continuously
Season 8 also brought in additional weapons, gadgets, and structures to add to its already sizeable roster:
- Dual Field Hunters
- Shockwave Launcher
- Stone’s Burst Assault Rifle
- Armored Wall – Armored surface for builds with 2500 HP
- Venom and Carnage Symbiotes – New superpowers that allow players to grab others through layers of structures
- Shadow Floppers – New fish that can be caught and used to heal 40 HP or can be tossed to ping other teammates
